The Cleveland Guardians, on the other hand, are making a run at the postseason. The Brewers, led by Doug Melvin, made a bold move in 2008, trading for CC Sabathia, which changed the course of the franchise. The Dodgers, who missed out on Sabathia, are now considering acquiring Tarik Skubal. The Cubs, with a struggling rotation, are in need of another starter. The Padres, on the other hand, need a hitter, not a pitcher. The Athletics have shown interest in Royals starter Kris Bubic. The Red Sox, an absolute mess, may want to take a look at the Rays, Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies, and Padres. The Guardians are the only team that has started only five pitchers this season, while 12 teams have already used 10 or more starters. The Phillies are 29-0 when leading after eight innings and have the best record in one-run games. The trade deadline is approaching, and teams are beginning to make their moves. Will the Cubs, Padres, or Athletics make a move for Skubal? Only time will tell.
